General Care

Khyati pieces are crafted from premium natural fibres — silk, cotton, linen, and handloom blends — often with zari, sequin, or thread embroidery. Gentle care preserves both fabric integrity and embellishment.

Cleaning

• Dry clean only for most silk, brocade, and heavily embroidered garments. Always inform your dry cleaner about delicate handwork.
• Spot-clean small stains immediately with a damp white cloth — never rub embroidery or zari.
• Do not machine wash, bleach, or tumble dry unless explicitly stated on your garment's care label.
• Air garments in shade after wear before storing — never in direct sunlight.

Storage

• Store in breathable cotton garment bags — avoid plastic covers long-term.
• Use padded hangers for structured pieces; fold heavy lehengas with tissue paper between layers.
• Keep away from moisture, moth repellents touching fabric directly, and strong perfumes.
• Silk sarees: fold along existing creases and refold periodically to prevent permanent lines.

Wearing & Handling

• Apply perfume and deodorant before dressing — avoid contact with fabric.
• Be mindful of jewellery and bags that may catch delicate embroidery.
• For bridal and occasion wear, schedule a final steam press at the atelier before your event when possible.

Alterations & Repairs

Minor alterations (hem length, minor adjustments) may be possible within 7 days of delivery. Contact us before attempting alterations elsewhere — improper handling can damage handwork. For repair enquiries: contact our studio.

Custom and bridal garments include a care card specific to your fabric and embellishment. Retain this card and follow atelier-specific instructions alongside this guide.
